Hey Ladies! Just wanted to remind you all that I have moved, again, kinda. :)

I was putting on CC Ultraviolet and I was thinking 'hey this kinda looks like RBL Scrangie.' Now that I get the 2 pics of the bottles together, they really don't look that similar.

I am really loving Scrangie (the polish) and I want to buy it, but I can't afford it. Does anyone have these 2 so they can do a comparison? Maybe me having CC UV will help me hold off on not going ballistic because I don't have RBL Scrangie.

NOTD: Revlon Scented Nail Polish Pretty in Papaya

I wanted to use all of my summer colors that I have on hand because summer is fading quickly in my part of the world. I am one of those girls that likes to wear the colors that go with the season, but I tend to venture off of that every once in a while.

So here is the lovely Revlon Pretty in Papaya one of the scented polishes that came out this spring. It is not a true red maybe more of a cross between a red and a coral. I am really into this shade for some reason right now. And the smell is not overpowering in the least. (please forgive my cuticles, since I filed my nails down it is so much easier for me to pick at them)

I had seen this in stores and I thought, '12x more volume, that's crazay!' But when I got the opporunity to test it out, I jumped at the chance and ripped open the package before I could take a pic.

What it claims:
It's made with hydra-collagen and enhances the thickness of your lashes for
up to 12X more impact without any clumps. Our patented brush is 50% bigger so it builds that incredible volume fast. Your lashes will build extra body and extra impact in just one sweep. (source- lorealparisusa.com)

When I pulled out the brush it looked very dry and huge. But when I applied the mascara it came off the brush smoothly- wasn't dry or stiff at all.

I don't know why that one lash is straight!

I really like this mascara. The brush is a bit big making it a little hard to navigate (you can see this in the lower lashes and the inner ones). The formula is pretty good. I can see the thickness from one picture to the next. It is not a very heavy feel either.

I have made this my new everyday mascara. But don't go for more than 2 coats, then those clumps rear their ugliness.

I got an opportunity to try L'oreal EverPure UV Protection Spray.

What it claims:

"Color-treated hair requires special care. This lightweight, non-sticky spray contains UV filters to help protect hair from the sun’s harmful rays and preserve long-lasting color purity. Hair is left healthy-looking and shiny. Infused with rosemary and mint for an invigorating, aromatic experience"

I have never tried the shampoo because my hair is not colored, but I heard it's good for hair that isn't colored either. In fact, my best friend, Emily, told me about it.

I spritzed this on when I got out of the shower one day and the smell, to me, is so strong I had to open the door.

It's a rosmary mint scent and I just couldn't stand it. Emily loves the scent though, so I guess it's really a toss up.

I agree with what it says about being non-sticky. I'd like to think of the texture as a lighter leave-in conditioner. My hair was shiny as well.

Have you tried this? Do you think the scent is too much? Have you tried the shampoo/conditioner?

Friday Night Girls-Night-In Mani & Pedi

So last night my best friend, Emily, and I had a Friday night Girls-Night-In and had a mani/pedi-a-thon with the new Zoyas I got. While we were doing this we had Heathers playing in the background.

Has anyone seen this movie? We rented it because it is a 'cult classic' comedy and we thought it would be good for a laugh. I don't think this should have been in the comedy section at all. It was rather dark.

Anyway, onto the polish!

First up is Pru. A warm pink with gold shimmer. Very beautiful. Below is 2 coats. These pics were taken on the fourth day!

I read somewhere recently that 2 basecoats is better than one, so I am going to start doing that from now on. I used Zoya's a coat each of: ridge filler, anchor, the polish (2 coats), armor, and hurry up drops. This mani lasted to 5 days without looking horrible!

Em liked Pru so much on my nails, she wanted them on hers! So here's her pics. Mind you, they were taken at like midnight last night so the lighting isn't spectacular. (these are all precleanup pics)

I feel that I have to do that now, just in case some are squimish about toes.

Here's Em toes with 2 coats of Salma. A lovely color!

Here's my mani. Lovely, bright Sienna. This is 3 coats and you can still see the VNL. I think next time I wear this I will do a first coat of a cream orange and top it with this. I think this is a great Halloween color!

Illamasqua Phallic (Finally)

I actually received this the end of last week (or the week before- can't remember). Anyway here are my swatches of the beautiful Phallic! (2 coats)

It was very hard to capture the sparkley glitterness. And I didn't realize how dark the color is in normal lighting. A lot of people asked if I was wearing black.

It's so shiny that it's hard to capture the true glitteriness of it. I think that attributes to the SH Mega Shine topcoat I used. Below is the line up of what I used.

This is a first for me to use these two together. I had heard that SH Nail Quencher Basecoat was awesome and SH Mega Shine said that it would make my nail polish lasy up to 10 days and that it dried quickly so I gave it a shot too.

On the second day I applied an additional coat of Phallic because there was a lot of shrinkage. Unfortunately this was the 3rd day.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Line

I got the opportunity to try out Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly collection recently. I am not too sure this collection is for girls with fine hair that doesn't hold anything. My hair needs something that is not labeled a number one in the hold department. I need somewhere around a 5- extreme hold. I need something that is very sticky and stiff to hold my hair. Nevertheless, I still tried some different ways to see how this could work for me.

First I started out by washing and conditioning with the shampoo and conditioner (as you can see I have used a lot of the shampoo trying different styles). One thing to say about this whole line is it smells fantastic! Not too overpowering, just a nice floral scent, which owes it to the wild violet that's in it. The shampoo was a nice clear liquid that lathered well. If you have trouble getting a brush through your hair like me, this conditioner doesn't really help. I had to use an additional conditioner that was heavier to get a comb through my wet hair.

When my hair was toweled-dry, I applied a bit of the finishing cream. It says in the packaging that I received this with, that you can use this as a finishing cream or at the ends of your strands when it's wet for more moisture. Then I applied the mousse all over my hair.

I spritzed the spray gel in my hair after that and then braided my hair in 2 french braids. I had to wait until my hair was completely dry before I did this otherwise my hair would not have taken the braids and just all come out wet.

I finally spritzed it with the flexible hold spray all over my hair.

I did this all at night and then slept. In the morning I took out the braids.

Then I used a 3-barrel curling iron and crimped the top and the bottom of my hair with it.

And VIOLA! This nice 'du came out of that work.

...but by the end of the day... wah wah wah...

It all just lost it's hold. The style is still there, but the volume and the tightness of it wasn't. But I think even if I used a sticky, hard sprays and mousses instead of flexible it still would have ended up the same just not as crunchy.

Here's another style I did on the weekend. Basically I used everything above, I just didn't wait for my hair to dry or put it in braids. Here's where the crunchiness comes in.

Not quite sure I would ever where this look again, but I like the first one.

A Work-Friendly 'Nad and Warning Toes

I was going for a sheer look today because my nails were behaving very well lately so I thought I would reward them a bit by showing off with a sheer. Well, Misa No Shrinking Violetta didn't turn out that sheer.
Then I decided to do a 'nad with this little Konad special nail polish that I bought with my first 'nad order. I really don't think this is a real Konad polish and I had no idea when I got it because I never knew what the bottles looked like. I don't even remember where I got it from.

So I used this 'Konad special polish' in pink (I guess I will call it that since there is no name on it) with plate m69 and the image all the way on the left. Despite this really not being sheer or the special polish being real, I really like the way this turned out. I don't really have a strict office where I have to watch what color nail polish I wear (heck! I wear jeans and a polo to work!), but for those who can't I think this is a nice option for them.

Don't say I didn't warn you! :)

I wanted to use ChG Frostbite on my toes, badly, b/c it is soo beautiful! I just can't keep it from chipping on my fingers, so toes is the next option. Then I wanted to 'nad it too. I used SH Insta-Dri Whirlwind White because I heard it was pretty good for 'nadding and I like how it turned out. I used m25 and threw a couple rhinestones on there and it was all goood :)

Would you rock either of these to work or for fun?

L'Oreal Revitalift Deep Set Wrinkle Repair

I recently got the opportunity to try out L'Oreal's new Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream. I still consider myself pretty young for 'deep-set wrinkles' but it couldn't hurt to start out now.

I really like the dual sided-ness of it and the fact that there is a day cream as well as a night cream.
I also like how the tips of the applicators are different so someone a bit drowsy in the morning (like me) will really notice how they are different.

I am glad that the day one has an SPF in it. Who couldn't use more sunscreen, especially in that sensitive area?

Have you tried this out? What do you think?

Some Recent NOTDs

I have been a bit behind on my posting my NOTDs. So here's two of them, there have been more including a gradient, but it was a major fail. I have taken some advice from Lisa from Nail Art World on gradients and I am getting a butt-load of Zoyas coming, which she said are the best at doing gradients. So you should see some good ones coming soon.

I got a Cherry Culture haul the other day and when I got everything I wasn't too happy with all of it. I really don't like how sometimes they have swatches on some of the polishes and sometimes they don't. It was a bit frustrating. So I ordered based on how I liked their names.

Anyways. Here's NYX Paradise. A beautful tealish/gold duochrome I am going to call it. This one I was happy with ordering.

This is three coats and you can still see the VNL.

I really despise sheers, but this one came out pretty good. The polish was thin and went on well.

Next up is a polish from Claire's. It's one of those 4-in-one polishes. This is Hawaii.

This is three coats and it did look different with each coat I did. If you look at my ring finger you will see that it is more orange than the rest of my nails. I had to go over that once more because I got a fuzzy stuck in it :)

This is also a couple days after wearing it. The polish is a bit thick and leaves streaks, but that might be because of the colors combining.

That's it for now, ladies. I did order a bunch of Zoyas so that will be up soon. As well as my Illamasqua order from Sephora and maybe the rest of my Cherry Culture order.
