NOTD: Icing Marine Blue

11:17 AM Posted In , , Edit This 4 Comments »
I can't believe that I haven't done one of these in forever! I finally have some time to actually to paint my nails and post them.

I saw this color yesterday at an Icing in one of the malls that my friend works at, and I just had to have it! I was so excited that I took off my nail polish that I did the day before and went home and got to work.

What I really didn't like about this polish- well, maybe it was the brush- it dragged soo much! This is four coats just because I had to get the whole nail covered and if I didn't put a gob of nail polish on the brush there was no way I would have covered the nail.

So here we are four coats in overcast:

As you can see there is some bubbling by the tips. Overall I like the color, but the brush sucked!
Have any of you ladies tried Icing nail polish? What do you think of 'em?
Well, we finally bought the house! Here are some 'before' pics, I saw before because there needs to be some remodeling done.
We close on the 15th of this month and we are heading there today for the final inspection.

Sorry..but not really back :( but here with a gift!

Hey, Ladies. Sorry I haven't been around lately giving you the up-to-date contest news, NOTDs, and commenting on your blogs. I just haven't been myself lately. It's this whole buying a house thing...I'm sooo sick of it!!! My bf and I have been looking for a little over a month and we haven't found anything! I'm soo done with it.

With all that, work is crazy! I want to call off every day! I'm so sick of being dumped on with more and more crap!

Anyways, I'm sorry I haven't been around and I'm really not back. But I do have a little 'present' for you.

Here is my Watermelon mani! I used 2 coats of ChG Strawberry Fields, tippy-tips with ChG Watermelon Rind, and the 'seeds' (I applied with a toothpick) with WnW Black Creme.
please ignore the stringy pointer finger
This thumb was the best, so I thought I would show a couple of pics of it.
Well I hope things have been going better for y'all. Talk to you soon...

Spring-y/Easter Nails: SH Spring Salon Collection

6:30 PM Posted In , , , Edit This 9 Comments »
Hoppy Easter, everyone! (I swear that's the only time I will say that!) Here is my Spring-y/Easter nails.
I went to my Walgreens to pick up a water on Friday, and I found these two beauties! I have been looking for these since April 1st, since I HEARD that that was their release date and it wasn't. So here I give you SH Salon in Night Hydrangea and Honeydew. I use Honeydew as a base (2 coats) and Night Hydrangea as the Koni.
I decided to do my ring finger a different Koni since I have seen so many ladies do their ring finger a different color.
Anyways...here's the photos!

So that's that! And I have to say for myself, that my Koni's have really improved since reading Brooke's post.
Thanks again, Brooke!
Have a great Easter again, everyone!

SH Nail Prisms w/French Tips

9:28 AM Posted In , , , , , Edit This 2 Comments »
Last night I did my best friend's nails with the Konad sp and they came out fantastic!! She knew that I recently started hauling np like crazy and she asked me to bring out all my stuff so she could choose something to wear. I asked her if she knew what she was getting herself into and she replied 'Bring it ON!' (lol) She was soo shocked when I brought it all out, but proceeded to go through almost all of it. She chose one color for the base of her fingernails and we skittled her toenails with ten different colors.

She had never heard of Konad before (and neither had I before I started with the beauty blogging world) and she was soo impressed that we skittled her fingernails with images! I didn't take any pics (sorry) but just rest assured that there will be MANY more Koni attempts in the future.

Anyways, after we did her nails we used Shine Happy on my hair for 10 minutes and John Frieda Luminous Glaze on her hair for 20 minutes.

Shine Happy comes with gloves and it's a clear dye that makes your hair supershiny and lighten it a bit. She did my hair and then I did hers. The glaze you can use is either a daily thing or once a week on dry hair for 20 minutes. The glaze did not come with gloves. My nails got all messed up! Which I didn't think would happen, but it gave me an excuse to do them again!

So today I give you this:
'This' is 2 coats wet n wild Heavy metal, 2 coats SH Nail Prisms Garnet Lapis, tips SH Nail Prisms Lapis Amethyst, 1 coat SH Diamond Strength Diamonds! I couldn't stop so I had to do the tips! This was very hard to photograph to get all of the different colors that GL has in it. Greens, Purples, Blacks, Oh my!

pics taken in indirect sunlight

What do y'all think?
Oh and my best friend has curly hair -I'm trying to get her in the blog world- so do any of you know a good curly hair blog that I can forward to her?
TIA
Have a great afternoon! I will probably be on here almost all night (got a LATE meeting).

NOTD: St. Patty's Day! Green Ocean over Carribean Frost

5:40 PM Posted In , , , Edit This 3 Comments »
**EDIT: BTW let me know how this layout works for you. I changed it from yesterday b/c it was too hard to see. I wanted to be able to see what I have behind my tables, so I made it a little transparent. Let me know in the comments. TIA***

Here we are, Ladies. This is two coats of Wet 'N Wild Carribean Frost, which went on smoothly. Then another two coats of Sinful Colors Green Ocean, then a topcoat.

I'm not too crazy on the close-up appearance of it, but from far away it is stunning.
All of the following pics are taken in sunlight.

Close-up it looks choppy and like it has gouges, which it doesn't. That's just the Green Ocean, it has some big chunks in there.
There was a good amount of tip wear and chipping. Which might be from the Wet 'N Wild or the fact that there are too many coats? Not too sure.
Anyways...Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Is anyone going to have some green beer tonight? I know I'm not, :(

NOTD: Blue Sapphire topped with #52, Koni'd with #65

I got a little bored of my Sephora Blue Sapphire topped with Nfu-Oh #52?! You might be saying 'how could you with all of that flakie, sparkely goodness?' Well I did. So I added some holo koni. # 65 that is! With Konad IP # (will fill this in when I have a look)
It's a Hawaiin-looking flower. Here are the pics, both in some form of artificial light:

What do you think? I'm still getting the hang of koni-ing. It's taking some time...
This is about 3 days after the original painting and it's held up pretty well.

Local Drugstore Haul!

3:40 PM Posted In , , , , , , , , , Edit This 4 Comments »
Ladies, if you have any local drugstore (no chains) that are nearby, I suggest to check them out! Look what I found for a mere $12!
Lamp Light

(l-r): Revlon Lily Chrome, Wet 'n Wild: Eggplant Frost, Wild Orchid, Caribbean Frost, Sparkled, Heavenly

I found this at my local drugstore called Riley drug. I had totally forgotten about it until I saw a post on MUA, I believe, saying to check out the local ds for great deals!

Idk if you would call this a 'deal' exactly. They were almost all $.99, which the Wet 'n Wilds are everywhere, the Revlon was about $5.

I used to have these chromes, but I remember trying to keep them on w/o chipping was a b*tch! I heard that these chromes are good for Koni's, so I will be trying that one next!

The Eggplant Frost and Wild Orchid are very similiar. But the Wild Orchid has a lot of glitter all throughout.

Not a big fan of greens, but I got Caribbean Frost to put under ChG He's Is Going In Circle from the Kaleidoscope collection.

And the last 2 I can use together and do a French mani with them.

What do you think, Ladies? Are you researching where your local DS are??

Thanks for looking!

NOTD: Sephora Blue Sapphire and Nfu-Oh #52

2:52 PM Posted In , , , , , , Edit This 2 Comments »
Since Scrangie and Flavia at Similiar Attraction both reviewed Sephora's Blue Sapphire, I felt I should as well! I did agree that the bottle is teeny-tiny:

as well as the brush. The polish is a dark blue jelly silver sparkles. The formula wasn't the best, it had some dragging to it. I didn't really experience the tip-wear that the other girls did, that's probably because I layered it with Nfu-Oh #52 (scroll down to see the pics!) The color was very pigmented and it only took 2 coats. I'll stop taking, here are the pics! This is preclean-up all taken in Lamp Light.

Then since my Nfu-Oh order came in, I decided to add #52 to it.

I really like #52! It has a sheer base of a dark blue with green flakies! I love Nfu-Oh's more than I ever thought I would!

What do you think, Ladies?
