L'oreal Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara

8:24 AM Posted In , , Edit This 0 Comments »
I had seen this in stores and I thought, '12x more volume, that's crazay!' But when I got the opporunity to test it out, I jumped at the chance and ripped open the package before I could take a pic.

What it claims:
It's made with hydra-collagen and enhances the thickness of your lashes for
up to 12X more impact without any clumps. Our patented brush is 50% bigger so it builds that incredible volume fast. Your lashes will build extra body and extra impact in just one sweep. (source- lorealparisusa.com)

here's that huge brush!

When I pulled out the brush it looked very dry and huge. But when I applied the mascara it came off the brush smoothly- wasn't dry or stiff at all.

lashes without mascara
(did not curl)

lashes with 2 coats

I don't know why that one lash is straight!

I really like this mascara. The brush is a bit big making it a little hard to navigate (you can see this in the lower lashes and the inner ones). The formula is pretty good. I can see the thickness from one picture to the next. It is not a very heavy feel either.

I have made this my new everyday mascara. But don't go for more than 2 coats, then those clumps rear their ugliness.

Have you tried this mascara yet? What do you think?

L'Oreal EverPure UV Protection Spray

I got an opportunity to try L'oreal EverPure UV Protection Spray.

What it claims:
"Color-treated hair requires special care. This lightweight, non-sticky spray contains UV filters to help protect hair from the sun’s harmful rays and preserve long-lasting color purity. Hair is left healthy-looking and shiny. Infused with rosemary and mint for an invigorating, aromatic experience"

I have never tried the shampoo because my hair is not colored, but I heard it's good for hair that isn't colored either. In fact, my best friend, Emily, told me about it.

I spritzed this on when I got out of the shower one day and the smell, to me, is so strong I had to open the door.

It's a rosmary mint scent and I just couldn't stand it. Emily loves the scent though, so I guess it's really a toss up.

I agree with what it says about being non-sticky. I'd like to think of the texture as a lighter leave-in conditioner. My hair was shiny as well.

Have you tried this? Do you think the scent is too much? Have you tried the shampoo/conditioner?

L'Oreal Revitalift Deep Set Wrinkle Repair

I recently got the opportunity to try out L'Oreal's new Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream. I still consider myself pretty young for 'deep-set wrinkles' but it couldn't hurt to start out now.

I really like the dual sided-ness of it and the fact that there is a day cream as well as a night cream.
I also like how the tips of the applicators are different so someone a bit drowsy in the morning (like me) will really notice how they are different.

I am glad that the day one has an SPF in it. Who couldn't use more sunscreen, especially in that sensitive area?

Have you tried this out? What do you think?

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash and Beauty Bar

I recently got the chance to review Caress' Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash and Beauty Bar from the Skin Wear Collection.

Here's what it claims:

Ready to reveal your daring side?
Flaunt your gorgeous even skin tone with confidence. Caress Evenly
Gorgeous Beauty Bar, with burnt brown sugar and karite butter, gently exfoliates
and lusciously moisturizes to reveal beautifully even-toned skin. Go
ahead, be daring!

New Caress Evenly GorgeousTM Exfoliating Body Wash and Beauty Bar have burnt brown sugar and karite butter that gently exfoliate and lusciously moisturize, revealing sensually smooth skin that’s even toned and polished to perfection. They’re must-haves to achieve any look that shows off your smooth, sexy shoulders.

Well I dared to be daring and I tried both!

You can see the burnt brown sugar in there!

As Steve Irwin would say: 'Let's go in for a closer look' *in Australian accent*

OOOooo! AAAaaa!

And in the body wash, too!

As you can see it comes out of the bottle in a rich, shimmery gold!

I am not a huge fan of the burnt sugar or for that matter any kind of sugary smelly stuff. So if you are not a fan as well you might not enjoy this scent.

The feel of the burnt brown sugar in there are spectacular, even in the beauty bar you can feel them! After the first small layer of the beauty bar comes off, it gets a little stingy. The sugar really rubs on your skin, if you rub the bar directly onto it. It does leave my skin feeling extra clean and smooth (both from the scrubbies and the butta).
Have you tried this yet?

ChapStick True Shimmers

3:08 PM Posted In , , Edit This 0 Comments »
Happy Saturday, Ladies! Sorry I haven't been around all week, I have been in OSHA training with no access to the internet.
But I have some lovely ChapSticks here to review. The True Shimmer Collection:

Tropical- a white shimmer that has the scent of coconuts and takes you straight to the beach! This has a light scent of coconut, not very strong (which is good for me).

Peppermint Rush- a blue shimmer with the classic mint taste of candy canes!
This is my favorite out of the bunch, because I am not too crazy about other flavors of lip gloss/stick/chapstick other than mint.

Blended Fruit Sherbet- a purple shimmer with the scent of Jolly Ranchers!
This one has the most pungent scent of them all.

Botanical Berry- a pink shimmer with the scent of Kool-aid!
Second pungent of them all.

This is the best pic I could capture of the shimmer.

Left-right: Peppermint Rush, Botanical Berry, Tropical, Blended Fruit Sherbert

Swatches of the four shimmers. Just one stroke.

Left-right: Botanical Berry, Blended Fruit Sherbert, Peppermint Rush, and Tropical.

Since you couldn't really see the colors in the pic above, I rubbed them in a bit more here.

This is after I rubbed them off. As you can see, there is still significant shimmer left over.
Overall, I like these shimmers, but I rub my lips together a lot and they are not very thick. When I do it make the shimmer go everywhere, and not stay just on my lips. I makes me looks like I was eating something with sparkles on it, like how kids have rings of Kool-aid around their mouths, same for me but with shimmer.
Have you ladies tried any of these? Do you like them? Do experience the same as me with the shimmer 'ring'?

A Different Stroke- Lumene Blueberry Curl Mascara

9:56 PM Posted In , Edit This 5 Comments »
So I thought that I would try something different, something instead of nail polish and contests. *sees you all wince in horror* Sorry, Ladies. I am kind of a mascara whore, so I thought I'd share.

The first and only time I saw anything about Lumene mascara was on LUXE TIPS!. She posted about a Lumene facebook page, which I clicked on her link and saw this:

I thought, 'Oo what a cool sounding mascara! Oo available at Ulta- I go there a lot, I should check this out!'

Well I forgot about it for a while, then I saw it in an Ulta ad to get this:

All for only $9.99 (I sound like an infomercial-sorry). I thought I would give it a shot.

Here's what it claims:

And apparantly:

(+)

(=)

We shall see.

cute tube color-kinda reminds me of blueberries- duh!

the brush

my stick-straight, small, short lashes

one coat

two coats

post removal

As you can see, the makeup remover that came with is a little oily.

What do y'all think? I should have stopped at one coat? Do they look longer as well as have a curl to them? Or is it just me?

This was the first time I have used a curling mascara. Did I do a good job? Are you heading out to buy it right now?

Tell me, tell me!
