Illamasqua Phallic (Finally)

I actually received this the end of last week (or the week before- can't remember). Anyway here are my swatches of the beautiful Phallic! (2 coats)
It was very hard to capture the sparkley glitterness. And I didn't realize how dark the color is in normal lighting. A lot of people asked if I was wearing black.

It's so shiny that it's hard to capture the true glitteriness of it. I think that attributes to the SH Mega Shine topcoat I used. Below is the line up of what I used.
This is a first for me to use these two together. I had heard that SH Nail Quencher Basecoat was awesome and SH Mega Shine said that it would make my nail polish lasy up to 10 days and that it dried quickly so I gave it a shot too.
On the second day I applied an additional coat of Phallic because there was a lot of shrinkage. Unfortunately this was the 3rd day.

a chip?

tipwear/shrinkage?!!

I couldn't believe it! Has anyone tried this combo (SH NQ + SH MS)?

A Work-Friendly 'Nad and **Warning Toes**

I was going for a sheer look today because my nails were behaving very well lately so I thought I would reward them a bit by showing off with a sheer. Well, Misa No Shrinking Violetta didn't turn out that sheer.
Then I decided to do a 'nad with this little Konad special nail polish that I bought with my first 'nad order. I really don't think this is a real Konad polish and I had no idea when I got it because I never knew what the bottles looked like. I don't even remember where I got it from.

So I used this 'Konad special polish' in pink (I guess I will call it that since there is no name on it) with plate m69 and the image all the way on the left. (The pic below is linked to a great Konad site where you can view all the plates easily, but don't buy there- go to OCNailArt.com and use code contestsandsuch to receive 20% off your order!)

Despite this really not being sheer or the special polish being real, I really like the way this turned out. I don't really have a strict office where I have to watch what color nail polish I wear (heck! I wear jeans and a polo to work!), but for those who can't I think this is a nice option for them.

***WARNING TOES***
Don't say I didn't warn you! :)
I wanted to use ChG Frostbite on my toes, badly, b/c it is soo beautiful! I just can't keep it from chipping on my fingers, so toes is the next option. Then I wanted to 'nad it too. I used SH Insta-Dri Whirlwind White because I heard it was pretty good for 'nadding and I like how it turned out. I used m25 and threw a couple rhinestones on there and it was all goood :)

Would you rock either of these to work or for fun?

UGH!! I am sooo mad! Soo mad that I am pised! With 1 s instead of 2! (Reference from The Sweetest Thing)

Granted I am at work and I shouldn't be filling my bag with Illamasqua nail polish that equals $50 for free shipping, but I can help myself. Phallic is beautiful:

Sorry, I just couldn't get enough of it! Have you ordered your Illamasqua nail polish from Sephora yet?

Spell Cosmetics is a 'new-to-me' line of cosmetics with a lot of great colors for eyes, faces, lips, and of course...nails!

This gem I got from for $5.99. It was a Last Chance item the other day and now it's gone... :(

At first glance I thought this was a blurple, but it was definitely a deep blue (see pics below). This is pre-cleanup and I did 2 coats, it was pretty opaque in 1 but I did 2 for good measure. I also found out about their Hologlow eyeshadows from Decorative Diva. They were so pretty I had to get them. Check 'em out:

I really thought that I might be able to try these as a first franken np's for me. But after I saw how light theses really were, not too sure I would want to waste them if they turned out super sheer as np's. I really don't like the sheer ones. I don't know. Any ideas?

They are available here. Individually they are $9.00 each. If you buy all 5 of them you get one free for a total of $36. Plus if you join they're site you get $5.oo gift certificate! Another plus: I believe shipping in the US is free! They just rearranged their site and when I got all of these I had to pay $.10- still a deal!!

SH Nail Prisms w/French Tips

Last night I did my best friend's nails with the Konad sp and they came out fantastic!! She knew that I recently started hauling np like crazy and she asked me to bring out all my stuff so she could choose something to wear. I asked her if she knew what she was getting herself into and she replied 'Bring it ON!' (lol) She was soo shocked when I brought it all out, but proceeded to go through almost all of it. She chose one color for the base of her fingernails and we skittled her toenails with ten different colors.

She had never heard of Konad before (and neither had I before I started with the beauty blogging world) and she was soo impressed that we skittled her fingernails with images! I didn't take any pics (sorry) but just rest assured that there will be MANY more Koni attempts in the future.

Anyways, after we did her nails we used Shine Happy on my hair for 10 minutes and John Frieda Luminous Glaze on her hair for 20 minutes.

Shine Happy comes with gloves and it's a clear dye that makes your hair supershiny and lighten it a bit. She did my hair and then I did hers. The glaze you can use is either a daily thing or once a week on dry hair for 20 minutes. The glaze did not come with gloves. My nails got all messed up! Which I didn't think would happen, but it gave me an excuse to do them again!

So today I give you this:
'This' is 2 coats wet n wild Heavy metal, 2 coats SH Nail Prisms Garnet Lapis, tips SH Nail Prisms Lapis Amethyst, 1 coat SH Diamond Strength Diamonds! I couldn't stop so I had to do the tips! This was very hard to photograph to get all of the different colors that GL has in it. Greens, Purples, Blacks, Oh my!

Sing along with me, Ladies!

What would you think if I sang out of tune,

Would you stand up and walk out on me ?

Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song

And I'll try not to sing out of key.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends

Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends

Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

I love this movie! If you haven't seen it yet- you NEED to! I love the Beatles and this movie just makes the music sooo much better!

Brooke, you really helped me out!

But first...
Let's start with the mani that I did last week: Finger Paints Artist's Sapphire. Mary @ Body and Soul did a post on this np brand and I agree with her, I love it!
This is 2 coats with Nailtek II basecoat and Seche topcoat. It went on smoooooooth! All pics are artificial light.

Here it is with Nfu-Oh #65 and Konad plate m36. From reading Brooke's post I really learned a lot. I learned to not SCRAPE too hard. This was something that I always did. All you need is a light scrape. I also learned to work quickly, especially when using the holo Nfu-Oh's. This helped prevent my polish applying stringy. I only got 2 that were a little stringy on the ends, which is a great improvement. I also learned that I need to buy some Konad special polishes! I might be able to get away with it for a little while longer :)

These pics are taken pre-cleanup. I had to apply another coat of Artist's Sapphire b/c it was chipping (I had worn it for about 5 days).

What do y'all think? Does it look better?
